SA Weddings KZN Networking Day

About a month or so back I decided to advertise with Cape Town based National wedding website SA Weddings. It is always difficult to decide which of the thousands of wedding dedicated websites to go with, but I had very good feedback from others in the industry about how well it had worked for them. Fast forward a few weeks and I received an invite to a wedding suppliers networking day hosted by SA Weddings. Not only was I invited, but they had also asked me to take some photos at the event!

The Cairn

The day was held at The Cairn of Old Kilgobbin in the Kwa-Zulu Natal midlands. I had never worked at this particular venue before and was quite excited by the opportunity. What a fantastic venue! A stone throw up the road from the Crabapple Chapel The Cairn is situated on a family farm in what has to be one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The venue itself can comfortably hold 110 guests, but apparently 120 is possible…….at a squeeze! It has a wonderful rustic feel which it pulls off without seeming rundown, whilst at the same time there are exquisite touches that don’t scream pretentious. To this end owner Carl has done a wonderful job of creating an amazing wedding venue that should find its way onto the lists of all people looking to get married in KZN.

Beyond the venue Margolite and Leozette from SA Weddings did a fantastic job of getting wedding suppliers from all over KZN to the networking day. Seeing both old and new faces was fantastic and the mix of people was spot on. Often it is just far too easy to get caught up in your own daily grind that we often don’t get the opportunity to get out and interact with others beyond Facebook – events like this are a breath of fresh air!

SA Weddings Guests

So we had a great venue and excellent company so now all we needed was amazing food. Enter The Farmers Daughter! An absolutely fantastic spread was laid out for all of us to enjoy that seemed to tie in perfectly with the atmosphere at The Cairn. Definitely worth considering for your wedding catering, but also if you just happen to find yourself in the Midlands and you are looking for a bite to eat!

SA Weddings Food

So there you have it – wedding photography also involves a spot of networking with other service providers in the industry. It is events like this that enable me to often be an excellent source of info for prospective brides who don’t know where to start, or who to approach. If there is anything you would like to know about the above venue, or suppliers, please feel free to comment below or to send me a message via the Contact tab at the top of the page.

Cheers,

Graham.
